JC Reading Series

Our March event will feature Dr. Fairy C. Hayes-Scott. She will read from her recently published book, “Are There Black Angels in Heaven?: Sharing A For-Real Black Love Story.”

Dr. Fairy C. Hayes-Scott earned her three degrees from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She has written five (5) books, been editor of one (1) book, and contributor to one (1) book. She is the owner of a traditional textbook publishing company since 1991. Furthermore, she is the owner of a self-publishing publishing company that began in 2002. She has been honored by students, colleagues, and Board of Trustees of Mott Community College by naming a classroom, Room 2024, Dr. Fairy c. Hayes-Scott Room in 1991. Then, in 2018 the American Association for Women in Community Colleges, Mott Community College Chapter, honored Dr. Fairy as the Influential Woman of the Year.

And in 2020, after 45 years as a teacher of English, American Sign Language, and courses on Deafness, Dr. Fairy retired from Mott Community College of Flint, MI. Furthermore, in 2020 the Mott Community College Board of Trustees awarded her the honor of being Professor Emeritus of English. Finally, Dr. Fairy still is very active as owner/ publisher of her two companies.

We are excited to welcome her to the JC Reading Series! She will be available after the reading to answer questions and sign copies of her book, which will be available for purchase.
