Home / Events / JC Reading Series
The Liberal Arts department is delighted to host Joel Walkowski for our kick off event of the JC Reading Series. At this event, Joel will read from and talk about his recently published memoir “Honolulu Blues: How Loving a Losing Football Team Created A Winning Man”. The book blends Detroit Lions history with memoir, literary nonfiction, and self-help to explore men’s mental health, addiction, and resilience through the prism of Detroit sports fandom. While the subject matter can be serious, the work is also comedic and using a sports narrative to examine identity, failure, and personal growth.
There will be snacks and refreshments available.
