Young musicians are invited to Jackson College’s Summer Band Camp! Summer Band offers musical and marching instruction, culminating in a concert and participation in the Hanover Fourth of July Parade!

Summer Band will meet weekdays from June 24 – July 4. Beginners with one to two years of band meet from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. each day, while intermediate students with two or more years of band meet from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Both groups will overlap for a 45-minute marching rehearsal at 11 a.m. Camp will meet in the Ruth Day Theatre, Potter Center on Jackson College’s Central Campus. A concert will be held July 3 in Potter Center.

Young musicians will benefit from full concert band rehearsals, small-group sessions and marching sessions High school musicians interested in pursuing secondary instruments are also invited to attend the beginning camp, or assist on their main instruments with beginners in the morning.

Have time to volunteer? Parents, high school and college students who can sit in with the group or lead sectionals may contact Director Dan Bickel, bickeldanielp@jccmi.edu. High schoolers may be able to use the time as volunteer hours toward graduation or other volunteering requirements.
