Trustee

Biography

Danielle Mackey is a lifelong resident of Jackson and a 2009 graduate of Jackson High School. She studied business administration at Jackson College before earning her bachelor’s degree in business communications from Siena Heights University. As a Jackson College alumna and former Sisters of Strength and TRIO member, Trustee Mackey understands that education opens doors, creates opportunity, and can change the course of a life. It changed hers.

Trustee Mackey brings more than a decade of leadership and strategic planning experience to the Board. She serves as Principal Customer Experience Strategist for Consumers Energy’s Gas Delivery business, where she uses data to support improvements in safety, reliability, and service for the company’s customers. She has held several roles at Consumers Energy, including Principal Community Engagement Manager, where she directed statewide outreach and storm response, as well as positions in communications and marketing. Prior to joining Consumers Energy, she worked in public relations, government, and economic development. This breadth of experience has given her a deep understanding of how strong partnerships and thoughtful leadership create lasting impact for the people and communities they serve.

That commitment extends to her civic service. Trustee Mackey has served on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jackson County, Grow Jackson, and the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, where she currently serves as Vice Chair of the Executive Committee. These roles have provided her with a keen understanding of board leadership and the responsibility of making decisions that benefit both an organization and the people it serves. She also remains actively engaged in youth mentoring programs throughout the community.

Outside of her professional and civic commitments, Trustee Mackey enjoys traveling, and spending quality time with her nieces, nephews, and her dog, Charlie.
