It’s found in quiet moments: when a student is close to dropping out and someone helps them stay when an instructor notices a student who feels invisible when support from the Jackson College Foundation arrives just when a family needs it when a staff member listens and reminds a student they matter Through these moments — and through support that extends beyond the classroom — Jackson College shows up for everyone. Here are some of the ways Jackson College supports students every day. Center for Student Success Jackson College’s Center for Student Success understands that sometimes, we all need some help. The center offers free tutoring and academic support for students who may struggle with a subject or a tough assignment. Tutoring is available in person or online to suit all students. The center also offers services for students with learning challenges, whether hearing, visual, physical or other needs, so that access is not a barrier. As the name states, the center is all about helping students find success, with services offered free of charge to all those enrolled. This is how Jackson College shows up for everyone. Center for Student Success Health Clinic Jackson College understands that student success goes beyond the classroom. When students aren’t feeling well — whether they are sick, injured, or dealing with other health concerns — it can make it difficult to focus, learn, and succeed academically. That’s why Jackson College offers an on-campus health clinic in partnership with Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. Students can meet with a nurse practitioner for many common health needs at a cost of about $5 per visit. Affordable, convenient care helps ensure that no student has to go without treatment because of cost, and that they can stay healthy, focused, and ready to learn. This is how Jackson College shows up for students’ well-being. health clinic Harriet’s Hub At Jackson College, we know student success begins with meeting basic needs. It’s hard to focus in class when you’re worried about how you’ll get through the week. That’s why Harriet’s Hub exists, to make sure students have access to the support they need to stay healthy, focused and enrolled. Located in William Atkinson Hall, Harriet’s Hub is a one-stop resource center where students can access food, toiletries, and other essential items free of charge. The Hub also offers professional clothing and connections to additional support services, helping remove barriers that can stand in the way of progress. More than a pantry, Harriet’s Hub is part of Jackson College’s commitment to showing up for the whole student — creating a welcoming space where students feel supported, valued, and able to keep moving toward their goals. When groceries or essentials become too much, Jackson College shows up. Harriet’s Hub Dental Hygiene Clinic College students come to class, do their work, spend time with friends, and head back home or to their dorms. But we never forget that the students we see on campus are whole people, with a variety of health needs — including oral health. At the Jackson College Dental Hygiene Clinic, students and community members can receive preventive oral health services while our future dental professionals gain valuable hands-on experience. From cleanings to screenings, these services support healthy smiles while helping students build the skills they need for their careers. Because oral health is health — and taking care of it early truly matters. We’re here to support your whole health. Jackson College shows up for your smile.
