Admissions

Steps to Become a JCC Student
- Complete an
application online.
- Identify your Program of Study/Educational goals
- Financial Aid
- Fill out and send in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
- Get information on scholarships and loans.

Transcripts
- Send in your high school transcript
- Send official college transcript only if...
- you are requesting a transfer credit evaluation toward a JCC degree
- you are using it to waive course placement
- Course Placement
Course placement assesses your skill level in writing, reading and math to ensure your success.
Course Placement is not needed if...
- you took the ACT within the last three (3) years and scored at least 18 on Math, English and Reading portions.
- you took the SAT within the last three (3) years and scored at least 416 on Math and 430 on Critical Reading
- you successfully completed math and English at a previous college
- you plan on taking a JCC course for personal interest or audit only
- New Student Advising, Registration and
Orientation
One week after meeting your course placement requirement...
- Meet with an advisor to review your educational plan, select courses, and receive information about registering for classes.
- Receive information and the dates available for orientation.
Orientation is not needed if...
- you plan on taking a JCC course for personal interest, for work or for audit only.
- you are a guest student from another college or university.
