Join us for a timely, enlightening discussion on mental health issues

April 8, 2024

College and community members are invited to come together for a Mind Soul Essence Mental Health Forum set for Monday, April 15 at 12 noon in Bert Walker Hall’s Community Rooms.

The Office of Inclusive Excellence will welcome experts to discuss the importance of a holistic approach to healthy minds. The forum aims to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health issues and encourage people to talk more openly about it. The discussion will focus on the impact of mental health on the academic performance of students, and how workplaces can provide effective ways for students and employees to manage stress.

Panelists will include:

  • Sarah Sabin, Chief Clinical Officer, Family Service & Children’s Aid/The Oasis Center.
  • Julie Bloomfield, Health Coach Educator, Henry Ford Health Jackson.
  • Christopher A. Simpson, Board Trustee, Jackson College, Jackson County Undersheriff.
  • Zariyah Bowser, Psychology Student.

There will be time for Q&A, and box lunches will be available. This forum is free to all Jackson College students, employees and the community.  Please Contact Antoine Breedlove for more information, 517.990.1318
