Fall Convocation is a professional development and service day for all Jackson College employees.  No regular classes are scheduled.  Students should speak with their professors if they have questions on class schedule.

The employee schedule for the day is below:


8 – 8:30 a.m. – Continental Breakfast – Coffee, scones, oatmeal and conversation in Potter Center Second Floor Lobby
8:30 – 9:10 a.m. – State of the College Address, Baughman Theatre. President Phelan will provide an update on the College.
9:10 – 10 a.m. – Fostering Students Sense of Belonging Through an Inclusive Environment That Embraces Diversity. Presented by

Louis Thomas, director of KCAAP,

Kalamazaoo Valley Community College.

10 – 10:15 a.m. – Break in Potter Center Second Floor Lobby
10:15 – 11:30 a.m. – Zing Training in Baughman Theatre – Customer Service Presentation
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Lunch Break — Lunch served in Potter Center’s Snyder Dining Commons (lunch is generously being sponsored by American 1 FCU and Stowe MEEMIC Insurance Agency)
12:30 – 1 p.m. – Travel for Community Service
1 – 3:45 p.m. – Community Service Projects (Jackson Public Schools, Cascades Humane Society, Jackson Friendly Home, Falling Waters Trail, Adrian Public Schools)


Note: The JC Food Pantry will be collecting non-perishable food items.
