Teens invited to take the stage, boost acting & speaking skills at Jackson College Theater Workshop

May 14, 2024

Jackson College is excited to announce its Theater Summer Workshop, which is inviting teens aged 14 and above to join. The workshop will take place on June 17-20 & 24-27 in the Potter Center on the Central Campus.

Participants will discover the improvisation techniques used by Chicago’s Second City to stage a scripted scene. They may also develop improv and memorization skills, while improving their confidence and ability to speak in public! Leading the workshop is Theatre Instructor Sara Anne Tomczak, who brings over 20 years of experience in acting and theatre.

The workshop will run from 6-8 p.m. for the last two weeks of June, Monday-Thursday (June 17-20 & June 24-27), and end with a finale performance. Meet in the Michael Baughman Theatre, George E. Potter Center. The cost is $100, and scholarships are available; please e-mail Tomczak, tomczaksaraann@jccmi.edu, for more information and to apply for a scholarship.
