Biotechnology in Healthcare Seminar

Tuesday, April 23, 2024
6 p.m.
Bert Walker Hall, Room 144-145

Recent advances in biotechnology are having remarkable impacts on healthcare, and will likely continue to do so into the future. There has never been a time in which the citizenry needed to be more informed about scientific advances, and Jackson College is a perfect venue for bringing together the community around these issues.

We are organizing a short seminar to discuss important advancements in biotechnology and healthcare for the college and wider community. We have assembled a panel of speakers who would summarize some of the recent advancements in biotechnology (e.g., epigenetics, bioinformatics, CRISPR-Cas9 technology, microbiome research), specifically as they relate to healthcare. Our panelists are researchers and scientists working in the fields of biotechnology, and are eager to share scientific information with a general audience, as well as engage in discussion and Q&A.
