Get a head start on college this summer with the new, revised Ready, Set, Jet! Summer Bridge Program. This program offers an introduction to college, help in math and English, all free of charge and in a schedule that can still fit your summer plans!
Ready, Set, Jet! is a summer bridge program that offers high school graduates a smooth transition into college. This 7-week program running June 11 through Aug. 2 at Jackson College provides an introduction to college life, along with essential math and English preparation – all at no cost. Attend class Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon, with breakfast and lunch available. Costs for the program, including tuition, fees, textbooks, breakfast, and lunch, will be fully covered by grant funds from the Michigan Academic Catch-Up Program.
Participants can earn three college credits by completing the Life Pathways Seminar, SEM 140, a freshman-year course to help students develop essential skills for success in college and explore careers to select an academic program of study. Additionally, laptop computers will be provided throughout the program, and students who complete it successfully and register for fall classes may keep the laptop. Learn the ins and outs of being a college student, gain an introduction to financial literacy and budgeting, and get helpful health and wellness tips!

- No cost to students; grant funds available from Michigan Academic Catch-Up Program for high school students impacted by the pandemic
- Opportunity to earn 3 college credits and gain valuable success skills for a smooth transition to college
- Laptop incentive – use a laptop for the program and upon successful completion and enrollment in fall semester, it is yours to keep!
- Program starts June 11 and ends Aug. 2, with a week off for July 4th.
