Walk through new financial aid form at free online workshop

College students looking for financial aid have a revised, updated form to fill out for 2024-‘25. Learn more about how to file the updated Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at a free, online financial aid workshop at 5 p.m. on March 28.

Current and future students are welcome to participate. Zabrina Yannella, college completion coach with the Michigan College Access Network, will discuss the 2024-’25 application process. Students may receive one-on-one application assistance “walkthroughs” with a financial aid specialist.

Students should create an FSA ID before the workshop and have their 1040 tax form information available, Social Security number and driver’s license (parents’ SSN if dependent). Register here: https://www.jccmi.edu/events/fafsa-workshop/

FSA ID

The FSA ID (account username and password) allows individuals to access Federal Student Aid websites and complete the FAFSA form online.

For the 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, students and contributors (parents or spouses) are required to have an FSA ID to complete and sign the form online.

For the 2023–24 FAFSA form, you aren’t required to have an FSA ID to complete and submit the form. However, it’s the fastest way to sign your application and have it processed. It’s also the only way to access or correct your information online or to prefill an online FAFSA form with information from your previous year’s FAFSA form.

If you don’t already have an FSA ID, you can create an FSA ID here… https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch.
