Music Scholarships

  • Susan Bickel Music Scholarship

    Scholarship Criteria:

    • Preference will be given to students following courses of study in the field of music
    • Scholarships from this fund will be awarded on a per-semester basis to students who are enrolled at least part-time and maintain a minimum 2.5 gpa. Students attending less than full time will have their award prorated according to enrollment status
    • Applicants must maintain satisfactory academic performance in accordance with Financial Aid procedures.

    Scholarship fund eligibility:

    • Funds will be available for all costs related to tuition, fees, and books

    Important: you must complete this list of requirements to receive your scholarship

    1. Contact your academic advisor ASAP to review your academic plans
    2. Ensure you have enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits. Although this scholarship is intended for full-time students, but can be pro-rated for part time students, lowering the potential scholarship award amount.
    3. Write a letter of thanks to the scholarship donor or representative. Sample letters can be obtained through the Jackson College Foundation.
    4. If required, perform community service requirements.
    5. Enroll in at least one of JC’s performance classes per semester while receiving the scholarship: MUS 129 (Community Concert Band), MUS 135 (African Drum Ensemble), MUS 137 (Jazz Band), MUS 154 (Drumline), MUS 123 (Class Voice)

  • Evelyne Jones Music Scholarship

    Scholarship Criteria:

    • This scholarship is intended for instrumental music and/or voice majors
    • Preference to second-year music students; however, first-year students will be given secondary consideration. Students must demonstrate merit, promise, and need.
    • Recipients must be residents of Jackson, Lenawee, or Hillsdale County
    • 3.0 GPA from high school, and must maintain a 3.0 GPA while at JC for renewal consideration.
    • Full-time student (part time considered at pro-rated award rate)
