Safety Data Sheets

A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is a document that contains information on the potential health effects of exposure to chemicals or other potentially dangerous substances, and on safe working procedures when handling chemical products.

In accordance with OSHA standard 1910.1200(b)(4)(ii)  Employers shall maintain copies of any SDS that are received with incoming shipments of the sealed containers of hazardous chemicals.  Employers shall obtain a safety data sheet as soon as possible for sealed containers of hazardous chemicals received without a SDS.  Employers shall ensure that the safety data sheets are readily accessible during each work shift to employees when they are in their work area(s).

Employees and students can access Jackson College’s SDS database at any time.
