Jan. 8, 2020 – Evolve Leadership. Instructor: Trice Berlinski

Evolve Leadership Training is based on the science driving the mindfulness movement. STRESS has become the new tiger, not necessarily chasing us to our death but slowly taking us out. The good news: YOU are doing this to yourself, which means you can STOP. Trice will show you how to take the power back and create the life, and business, you want. You and your employees will be led through a journey of discovery with interactive discussion, demonstrations, and practices.

Feb. 5, 2020 – Motivational Interviewing for Hiring Managers. Instructor: Sarah Bannon

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is considered to be a research-driven best practice model used when working with individuals that have denial or resistance to change. The principles and strategies used in MI can be readily used in a business setting (regardless of the industry) and will help the participant learn how to establish or improve:

          1. Expressing empathy through reflective listening.
          2. Developing discrepancy between employees’ goals or values and their current behavior.
          3. Avoiding argument and direct confrontation.
          4. Adjusting to employee’s resistance rather than opposing it directly.
          5. Supporting self-efficacy and optimism (and improved behavior).

Mar. 4, 2020 – Negotiating for Success. Instructor: Renee Thompson

Negotiation is a process that requires an application of productive behaviors. Once you become comfortable with the negotiation process, you will learn first-hand which tactics, strategies and behaviors work well, and those that you want to avoid. Many individuals associate a negotiation pertaining to a business deal, but truthfully, negotiations occur every day. Perhaps you negotiated a curfew time with your teenage child, or the amount you are going to pay for yard work or an increase in your salary. No matter what the situation, strong negotiations skills can benefit the desired outcome. Through this one-hour workshop participants will be introduced to the basic types of negotiations, the phases of negotiations, and the skills needed for successful negotiating.
